LAKE HAVASU CITY — Even through rough waters, Chris MacClugage navigated his way to a third place finish Sunday.
The Lake Havasu City resident finished behind champion Jean Baptiste Botti, of France, and Kevin Riterer, of Austria, during the International Jet Sport Boating Association’s 29th annual World Finals. The three men competed in the Pro Ski Open class.
But MacCluguge wasn’t the only winner during the racing event’s final day.
Australia’s Kylie Elmers took a first place finish in both Moto 1 and 2 divisions. Battling for second in the Moto 2 Women’s class was Peruvian Paloma Noceda and Californian Amy Green. Noceda beat Green by inches to take second place.
Emi Kanamori won the title in the Pro-AM Women’s Ski Limited class.
In the men’s Pro Runabout division, Dustin Farthing took first, followed by Dustin Charrier, of Florida, and James Bushell, of the United Kingdom.
Estonian teenager Markus Lutsokert came back from a third place finish in his first race to snag a Junior Ski 13-15 Limited title. Almur Bin Huraiz, of the United Arab Emirates, took second place and Toshi “Samurai” Ohara, of Japan, finished third.

GP Ski - Race Report From Charleston West Virgina
"The Ski GP class had a spoiler this weekend in the form of multi time world Champion Chris MacClugage who won all three motos and looked smooth doing it on his Monster Energy Kawasaki. Jimmy Wilson took two hole shots this weekend and did everything he could to make up ground in the national points chase but he came up 8 points short and had to settle for third in the national championship hunt. Rick Sherker used consistency and hard work to tally a third which was enough to give him the runner up spot in the national point’s race. He said, “I plan to train hard in the off season and come back ready to win another title in 2011.” Rob Flores rode conservatively this weekend knowing he could win the national championship as long as he averted any major mishaps, which he did. Rob told me, “I usually don’t look at the national points and just concentrate on going out and winning each week, but honestly, this weekend I just wanted to finish well and win the title.” Rob did just that and is the 2011 IJSBA Ski GP National Champion."
